2019 Retreat & Synod
|Posted by Administrator on Jan 31 2019|
The 2019 Synod is a continuation of the discussion begun at the 2018 Synod, as we in the MDAS continue to explore our place to stand in the Anglican Communion. In 2018 we heard from Bishops in the REC; this year we will learn from Archbishop Anthony Mikovsky, Prime Bishop of the PNCC, about the mission of the Union of Scranton; and next year, schedule permitting, we hope to have ACNA Archbishop Foley Beach share with us about the future vision of ACNA. The focus is on Conciliar Christianity, being true to what God has revealed in Scripture and in the Councils of the undivided Church. With teaching, worship and fellowship, this retreat provides a gathering time for all (clergy and lay alike) in the Missionary Diocese of All Saints (MDAS), part of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA). Sharing our common ministry and vision-setting for the future happen best when we as the MDAS are together. There will be one brief business session. Spending these three days in Lent with others from our diocese in worship, learning, prayer and fellowship, will equip us to return, nourished and recharged, to the mission field to which He has called each of us.
The Most Rev. Anthony Mikovsky was consecrated a Bishop in 2006 and was elected Prime Bishop of the Polish National Catholic Church in 2010. A native of New Jersey, he and his wife Carol live in Scranton PA.
